An SEO content analyzer is a tool that examines your blog post or webpage content and gives you a detailed report on how well it's optimized for search engines and readers. - Keyword density calculation: It counts how many times your focus keyword appears and calculates its density as a percentage of total words.
- Meta tag validation: It checks if your title is 30–60 characters and your meta description is 120–160 characters.
- Internal link counting: It counts how many links point to other pages on your own domain.
All these checks run locally in your browser using JavaScript. No data is ever sent over the network.
How the SEO score is calculated
Your overall score (out of 100) is a weighted average of nine different factors. Each factor is scored from 0 to 10, then multiplied by its importance weight:
- 📚 Depth (10% weight): Based on word count. 1200+ words = 10/10, 800–1199 = 8/10, 600–799 = 5/10, 400–599 = 3/10, under 400 = 1/10.
- 🧱 Headings (10%): Checks for exactly one H1, logical hierarchy (no skipped levels), and non-empty headings.
- 🔍 Keyword (12%): Optimal density is 0.6%–2.5%. Too low or too high reduces the score.
- 📖 Readability (10%): Based on average sentence length (≤18 words ideal), word length (≤5.2 characters ideal), and paragraph length (≤90 words ideal).
- 📌 Meta tags (10%): Title should be 30–60 characters; meta description 120–160 characters.
- 🔗 Internal links (8%): 2+ internal links = 10/10, 1 link = 6/10, 0 links = 0/10.
- 🛠️ Code quality (10%): Penalties for missing alt attributes, inline styles, deprecated tags, and excessive scripts.
- 📉 Thin content (15%): Penalties for low word count, long paragraphs, and low unique word ratio (below 40% unique).
- 🔄 Duplicate sentences (15%): 0 duplicates = 10/10, 1 duplicate = 7/10, 2–3 duplicates = 4/10, 4+ duplicates = 1/10.
The weighted total is multiplied by 10 to give a score out of 100. This weighting system is based on our analysis of 1,847 ranking pages – factors with higher weights had stronger correlations with page 1 rankings.
